It was another day of beautiful weather at Higgs Beach on the oceanside as the Power Tour vehicles enjoyed another day of fun and conversation . Vehicles covered the area to the delight of the beachgoers , tourists , locals and tour trains . Cameras and video  recorders were everywhere . Lunch at Salute Restaurant was excellent and the " Key Lime Car People  " , were rewarded  with their fix of pie . Numerous deserving awards and door prizes were handed out and participants made ready to spend their last day in Key West . Afternoon sightseeing and boat trips seemed to be most popular before giving way to the cooler evening escapades . As participants return to the mainland this morning ,  there should be lots of good photos to enjoy . Thanks again to Cheri and Nick Coleman for all the time and effort they provided for us . This is my third cruise and can honestly say it gets better each year . Thanks also to Jackie and Chris Ramsey ; as well as others ,  for their contributions to the cruise .

The show and Duval street cruise turned out great . Vehicles were spread around the entire reserved  parking area where the Sunset Celebration is held . While rain clouds came around it did not rain but was nice in that it cooled things down a little  . The Mel Fisher Street Fair was fun with great music , food and of course a few drinks . At 7 pm the police escort took the vehicles from the Gulf side of the island to the ocean side along Whitehead Street  where scores of visitors wave , cheered and took photos as they waled or pilled out of the Audubon and Hemingway`s House . The escort then turned and went up Duval Street to the cheers , photos and applauds of the crowds lined up along the way . We went from the Gulf of Mexico to the Atlantic Ocean . Well ok it was a total of about four miles as Key West is only about 2 by 4 miles long .  It was a cruise that Old Town would envy . Most participants then returned to Mallory Square for sunset and the unique entertainment . Many spent the rest of the night having fun along our main drag as Cheri  had reserved parking till midnight .   Cheri and Nick`s planning made for a superb event and the fun is not totally over . I am leaving home now  to join them at Salute Restaurant located at Higgs Beach on the ocean  side . The resturant is opening early for coffe and tea for us and many will be ordering their lunch and  Key Lime pies , which are the best on the island , with real  meringue  standing tall . Many of the participants will head out after the show for visiting attractions , photo ops ,  boating , sailing or up to Big Pine Key .  Each of the 5 car shows have had great awards and door prizes and well attended by visitors and locals .

We are in our forth day of the Power Cruise and we aare  having a blast ! The group paid their dues with an  accident delay on the Fl. Turnplke and hammering rain but once they got to the Fl. Keys it was a different story . Thursday was a picture perfect day as vehicles were spread out along the ocean and beautiful very tall coconut palms . The Guy Harvey Islander motel was gorgeous with pools , boats and bars . Yesterday we had a second car show at the Islamorada Fish company . We dined on huge fresh fish sandwiches and fed the small sharks and tarpon , free swimming by . Several drove  down to Robbie`s Marina to feed the tarpon there . Even though I was born and raised here I must admit that the cruise was a gorgeously beautiful tourist brochure day . You never get tired of that . I`m leaving the house shortly to join the group  for an all day car show as Cheri has reserved all of the parking spaces next to the famous Sunset Celebration at Mallory Square . Treasure salvor Mel Fisher Days  is also going on nearby . She has also arranged for a police escort down Duval Street at 7 pm. Not sure if it will be on the videos that they have in the streets and inside Sloppy Joe`s bar .  More later !
