Excellent Tony! Get all the footage you are able to display with the car at shows. Dr. B
I'm now with the elite group of peeps who have had their ride on the tele. My ride was use during a shoot for Velosity's "All Girls Garage". Aired March 16 2013 season premier "Movie Cop Car" episode. My friends Mopar 11 Charger was chosen for mods turning his car into a cop car. Mine was used for the chase.
Here is a link for the teaser and recap of the "Tail Fins and Chrome" Episode #25 entitled "The Need for Speed". The '55 has a short clip under the recap.
Our 1955 Chrysler 300 has been featured in several magazines, at least one TV show, and is the prototype for the recently released Moebius Models, Inc. 1:25th scale kit: http://moebiusmodels.com/model_kit_news.php
The following Automotive Celebrities have autographed several of the kits (and the inside of the trunk lid of the real car) to be sold for charity: Mr. CHIP FOOSE; Mr. DON GARLITS; Mr. BOB TULLIUS. These kits are currently listed for sale on eBay. All profits will be donated to the DISABLED AMERICAN VETERANS and THE WOUNDED WARRIOR PROJECT.
Magazine/Media features: STREET THUNDER 2008; ANTIQUE AUTOMOBILE 2008; SIR SPEEDY 2008 CALENDAR (Cover & month of March); NCPC JOURNAL 2006; OLD CARS WEEKLY 2012; BRUTE FORCE 2012; LINE DRIVES 2012; and AMERICAN ICON 2011. Also featured on TV's "TAIL FINS AND CHROME" in 2011.
The car's provenance is unique as the only 1955 C300 issued by Chrysler Corporation as an "MVP CAR" to the New York Yankees manager, Casey Stengel. The first owner was Enos "Country" Slaughter (BB HOF 1985) who drove the car from '55 to '63.
The interior, engine compartment and trunk are completely original. Only the outer surfaces and some chrome have been restored.
It's a pleasure to drive and we hope to get out to more shows in 2013.
Last April I went up to Ga for the South Ga Classic Car Club (sgccc.org) for there anual spring super cruise in. When I got there I was suprised to see that my car was chosen to be printed on the backs of the clubs 2012 T shirts. How cool is that!
